I think that globalization, in some circumstances, will have both a positive and negative affect on my life. It can be displayed in a positive way, in that we are constantly learning about other people and sharing our ideas, this leads to good expierience for growing up in our world today. It can also be negative on the other hand, because the spread of ideas and culture can be too one sided, and there could be an over and under exposure to certian ideas. This can be referred to in the cartoon. The soliders are people such as Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, and Goofey, along with businesses such as Coka-Cola, McDonalds, and Windows. The people running away in the cartoon are the people we might be forcing our ideas onto. So in some cases I agree, and I disagree with the positive and negative affects of globalization.

This cartoon is illustrating globalization by using characters from disney. These characters represent people from China, India, Russia, etc. that are trying to take over the jobs of the Americans. I think at this rate, globalization will have a negative effect on people my age because there will be less jobs available when we get out of college. I think others around the world see this as an opportunity for them to live a better life. The reaction from the people on the left indicate the Americans and how we are afraid of what is happening. This cartoon i think has a negative point of view on the americans because we are very scared and afraid.

Globalization will have a negative effect on my life because it will be harder to find a job and the ecomony will suffer and then the costs of everyday living things will go sky high. Other people around the world will like globalization because the U.S. is one the top of the world and they appear to be like the country that has it all worked out. Disney characters are used to symbolize the United States invading other countries and having people from India and Europe work for them in there own country. Disney characters are used to potray coming into the country and taking over. Some corporations are Nike, McDonalds, Microsoft, Texico, and IBM. The people on the left side are scared and frightened and are not quit sure what is happening. Someone from U.S drew the cartoon. The cartoonist point of view was that U.S. wants to get in and take over the compinies for jobs. Yes, i do agree with the cartoon and the points that it makes with the U.S.

Globalization will probably end up having a negative effect on my life. Seeing as the U.S wont be number one anymore in the economy, more countries such as Bangalore that will suceed us in technology. Around the world other people will like ths because the United States has been on top for so long, maybe some of them will come up as a big country now. Disney characters have been used in the cartoon to symbolize the United States trying to take back all the industries that other countries have started to take over their own companies. Some coroportions that are in it are Nike, Mcdonalds, Microsoft, Texaco, and IBM. The reaction of the people on the left side are showing scared faces since they have guns to their backs. The cartoonist must be from the United States because they are showing how the Indians are tkaing over our companies for us, and how we are trying to get them back. I agree with what he is trying to say because they obviously have a major part in the running and upkeeping of all of our American companies.

This cartoon represents globalization by illustrating Disney characters such as, Mickey Mouse, and Goofy invading a foreign country. It represents how an American company can spread through out the world. The company can have a positive or a negative affect on a foreign country. I think globalization is when a country's customs are used in another country.

The cartoon depicts globalization in many ways. The Disney cartoons, McDonald's, Texaco, Coke and Windows have traveled overseas and taken over the foreign population and small businesses. The people in the cartoon do not look happy and are running away from the Disney characters, worried. Globalization has both negative and positive effects on our lives. Ideas from other countries can help our economy jump start again, while no one will have their own culture. Everybody in the world will share the same traditions.

Globilization is going to have a negative effect on my generation because as a result of other countries doing our jobs, Americans become less ambitious and more lazy. In this cartoon, lovable such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck are shown as soldiers holding foreigners hostage while companies such as Microsoft, McDonalds, and IBN are taking over the country. The cartoons are meant to reprsent America and how it is taking over all business in the world. This cartoonist has a point of view becasue he is stating his opinion in the cartoon, and i agree with its message.

Globilization will definitely have an impact on our lives. It will be a negative effect of course, because we are losing many jobs for americans. I am sure that in some places they are happy about this because it creates more jobs but in a lot of places it does not even matter because the people are not educated enough to work for the companies. They use disney characters because disney started out in america and is now all over the world. In the cartoon the diney characters are soldiers forcing globilization on the people there. Other corporations are coke, disney, and windows. The cartoonist is someone named Singer and he thinks that companies are forcing globolization on other countries.

Globalization in the long run I feel has a positive effect on our economy because it (in theory) should improve our economy because we won't have to pay as much for the same amount of work to get done. However, it could also go the other way and make it worse for Americans because other countries are given the opportunity to excel and control our country. I think around the world people are grateful for the opportunity for a job because a low salary to us is a high salary to them, for the most part. Also, they have better access to technologies and advancement. However, the man whose name appears to be Singer who drew the political cartoon on globalization seems to have the opposite opinion on globalization. he utilizes Disney characters as an example of a product that has been extremely globalized, Mickey Mouse has been a figure in many countries, like France, Japan, and China where there are Disneyland Theme Parks, as well as making an appearance in other countries. THey have been portayed as military people, almost threatening. Other corporations are portrayed as threatening like coca-cola, windows, IBM, and CNN. They are all represented as things meant to scare lke bombs and flags. The people in the cartoon are running scared. Through this the cartoonist implies that people who are being globalized dont like it and are even scared of it. I definitely dont think this is the case. While some people may fear globalization, i dont feel that the majority of people see it as a bad thing.

In this scene the cartoonist portrays globaliztion in a WWII like battle. We see scenes of Disney characters coming onto the shore through boats, holding guns and pointing them towards a crowd of people. All the while there are commercial emblems like Texaco, Shell, Coca Cola, and McDonalds. The cartoon makes the events seem as great tradgedy.
This cartoon strongly represents the information that I have read in the article in a very creative way. The emblems that are seen very often throughout the cartoon represent the many compnaies that have shifted teir job forces to other countries. Globalization is exactly that: to extend to other or all parts of the world. Also we see an array of Disney characters throughout the cartoon, they are portrayed as soldiers going against the crowd. Perhaps they represent the American tradition of thinking that we are competing with ourselves. The people on the left hand side are very distrought and worried, somewhat frenzied. They represent how America s going to react when the effects of globalization are felt. Globalization will have a profound effect on me personally, It may make it harder for me to get a job. And this could greatly desttroy our economy

Globalization will have an effect on me because whem I have my own private enterprise the I will not have that much work because the big companies will take most of the work. I think globalization has had major impacts on people for the good and the bad. Big businesses hire a lot of workers but take up a lot of business and small businesses will not get enough work. The disney characters have been used because Disney is a large corporation and they are used as the enemys of the people on the left or the private enterprises and the people on the left are not happy. Another large name brand that is used in this picture is Coca Cola. This cartoonist obviously disagree's with globalizations but I disagree with the cartoonist because if the organization is big it started small and through hard work evolved into how it is.

Globalization is the act of unifying the people, whether it's economically, socially, or politically. According to the article, globalization may have a negative effect on America because it won't be the "leader" anyore, since India and other countries' economies are starting to catch up. I may be out of a job because of this because it's cheaper for people in other countries to do the same jobs we do here, so globalization may have a negative effect on my life. But it could also have a positive effect because more goods, ideas, and advances will be exchanged because of the open economies. I think other people around the world are happy about globalization, as long as it's their ideas that are being spread, and not just America's to everyone else.

Disney characters have been used because they are loved worldwide. They have been portrayed as soldiers forcing their ways, like corporations, on people elsewhere in the world. CNN, IBM, McDonalds, Windows, and Coke are a few of the corporations included. The people on the left side of the cartoon are reacting negatively. They're running away in fear.

The cartoonist is Singer. The cartoonists point of view is that globalization is a bad thing and shouldn't be forced on countries. I disagree with globalization being negative. I think it's good for countries to open thier economies and make connections with other countries. People worldwide should be united. But, I don't think a country should have to globalize.

In my oppinion, globalization will have a huge effect on my life. It could both benefit me and harm me. If I were to go into the either the fields of science or mathamatics, globalization would not benefit me because on a worldwide scale, America is falling behind in these subjects, but if I become the owner of a major corperation, globalization would allow me to hire good workers for a much cheaper price then it would cost in America. I think around the world, things like advances in telecomunications are a god send. This allows people who would have had to settle for a low paying job, or no job at all can now work over the phone with a major corperation anywhere in the world, and earn more money then they would have if they had to take up a local job. Disney characters are used in this cartoon to represent Americans because they are from a time that was without outsourcing, they are strictly American. The Disney characters apear invaisive and destructive in this cartoon. Other corperations such as Windows, McDonalds, IBM, Coca-Cola, nike, Texaco, and Shell are all included in this cartoon. The reaction of the people on the left hand side of the cartoon is terror. They are unhappy with the arrival of all there major corperations. The cartoonist, Singer's point of view on this subject is that outsourcing has a negative impact on foreign lands and that the idea is frieghtning.

I think that over time globalization can and will have a negative effect in everyone's life at one point or another. Disney characters were used because everyone knows about them and they are well known almost everywhere in world. There is a disney world in florida, a disneyland in california, and one in france, not to say there aren't others. the characters have been portrayed in a very violent type of way. Some other corporations include gas stations, microsoft, mcdonalds, coke, and the CNN news station. The raction of the people on the side is saying how they are all trying to run away from everything and how scared they are. The name of the cartoonist is singer, and his view of globalization is that it is a horrible thing and making things fall apart. I can see where he is coming from but i dont agree with it. i think that globalization is a good thing because it brings countries together and we all learn to share culture. We can all realize that everyone is the same on the inside and we are all special in our own ways.

Globalization is a process whereby an increased portion of economic or other activity is carried out across national borders. I believe the cartoon is saying that globalization would have a positive effect on my life, but a negative effect on the lives of people around the world. I believe the Disney characters are there to symbolize the United States because of Disney World, but also i noticed that Micky is smiling. I believe that this infers the idea of the invaders trying to be friendly about it on the surface, but having true intentions to take over all. Corperations that are seen in the cartoon are gas companies like Texaco and Shell, computer companies like IBM and Microsoft, and also Coca-Cola cans and T.V. that say CNN. The people on the left side of the cartoon look scared of the Disney cartoons and are running away. This indicated that they are the ones being invaded by the Disney characters.
The cartoonist is Andy Singer. I think the cartoon does have a point of view and i agree with it. I think that companies like Microsoft and Coca-Cola and Texaco are infiltrating into other countries and cultures.

In my opinion, globalization will have a positive effect on my life and the lives of other Americans. This is because globalization is the act of trying to get all of the countries on the same playing field economically and politically. By having the United States on the same playing field economically as well as politically, it would improve our relationships with other countries because we will all be doing things in the same fashion. Other people around the world might not feel the same way; they might think that globalization would have a negative effect because it would destroy their traditions and culture. In this political cartoon, Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy have been used because in a way, they represent the foundation of American culture and that although they are following the guidelines of globalization, they are still the same characters as they were before. In the cartoon, though, they are portrayed as being mean, controlling war generals and military soldiers, trying to dictate how others live their lives. Other corporations that are included are Texaco, Shell, IBM, Coca Cola, McDonald's, CNN, and Windows. The scared reactions of the people on the left hand side of the cartoon indicate that they do not want to follow this act of globalization and are envisioning the negative effects that are to come. The cartoonist that drew this political cartoon is Andy Singer, whose point of view on globalization is that it will eventually assimilate everyone into our American culture, whether they like it or not, and eventually force them to forget their traditions and original customs. I disagree with Singer; although that is a pretty significant effect, globalization will increase our relationships with other countries because of the similarities in which we do things, such as manufacture goods and products, and will ultimately lead to peace among most areas of the world.

I think globalization will have a positive effect on my life. I think that if people learn western ways of life, it would make the world more accepting of each other. However it might cause problems between countries and people would lose their jobs, which is obviously a negative effect on not just my life but everybody's lives. I think people around the world see globalization as a negative effect because they would rather stick to their own ways, which is understandable. The cartoonist of the cartoon (haha) defenitly shows a negative point of view towards globalization. They used Disney characters to make it seem innocent and harmless, however they are carrying guns which is threatening and could be harmful. The cartoonist probably feels that their only choice is to conform to Western globalization. Other corporations included are Motorola (cell phones), Microsoft (computers), CNN (television), Coca-Cola cans (drinks), Nike (shoes), McDonalds (food) Shell (gas), and IBM (computers, i think). All of these things are Western influences and the cartoon shows how non-western places are being 'attacked'. Especially because the coke cans are being used as bombs, the televisions with CNN are used as missiles, and other logos are being used to mark ships and flags. The people on the left hand side of the cartoon are scared and panicking, this is because the cartoonist is probably scared of change as well as the people around them. I feel that the cartoonist portrayed globalization well in this cartoon, and I think that change in this world is needed. I don't like the idea of shoving it down the throats of other countries, but eventually i think it will make us all a little more accepting of each other in the end.

In this cartoon, it symbolizes the globalization in foreign countries by u.s. companies. It symbolizes how America is forcing our companies in other countries. Globalization could affect me by Internet sharing with other countries. We can share cultures and traditions over the Internet and learn more about foreign countries. Other people around the world would benefit because they too can learn more on cultures of other countries by Internet sharing and globalization. However some will be umhappy because they do not want our companies into their countries. The Disney characters have been used on this cartoon by expressing our ideas about business in foreign countries. They have been portrayed as u.s. Soldiers invading a foreign country. Coorporations include coke, dell, CNN, and gas stations such as shell. People on the left seemed terrified of the u.s. Companies. The cartoonists point of view on globalization is that we should not be sending our companies to foreign countries because it is unfair to bring our companies to their land.

I cannot find th author or link to wikipedia, but from he cartoon it is easy to judje that the cartoonist has a negative opinion of globalization. The author portrayed Disney charaters to show the international movement of Disney, but the soldier Disney characters have a smile, as if they don't care if they are invading others. McDonald's, Texaco, Coke, IBM,CNN, Microsoft, and others have been shown by the cartoonist that they are on the international stage entering different countries. The people running really show the cartoonist's opinion. The people are scared angry and want to be left alone.
I think globalization will have a negative effect on the world. Business that invades quiet space is invading the freedom of the natives as well. The world cannot agree on every topic, there is still segregation. Some areas need to be left alone for the welfare of the world. A global economy also affects culture. Culture in India is very low key when it comes to technology, but with businesses invading, it brings in computers and hardware at the people are not use to. In the future, the world will try to globalize and become one, but they will find a surprise with people who will rebel against it.

Globalization will have both positive and negative effects on the lives of Americans. Our culture will be more at the same level as other countries which could cause a lot of successful cooperation, but it could also cause much tension and struggle for power. Other people around the world probably like the idea of gaining more power instead of the U.S. being the biggest superpower by far for once. Disney cartoons have been used because they are an American creation and they represent a carefree, in control nation. The characters are shown with guns coming out of the ships. Texaco, Shell, McDonalds, BM, CNN, and Coca-Cola have been uesd in this cartoon. The people on the left-hand side look shocked and scared and resistant. These people represent the countries that the U.S. is invading and trying to globalize. Singer drew this cartoon. This cartoonist thinks that America is taking over and trying to force their companies and technologies into other countries. I agree, because we tend to have a superior attitude and try to make everyone assimilte to our level of technology and advancements.

Globalization, or the development to make possible international influence or operation, will undoubtedly affect my life. Having gone on since the late nineteenth century, the process of breaking down barriers between countries has already created a flow of products both in and out of this country. I have used, worn, and played with products that have not been created in America, but by other countries across the world. I think that around the world, some countries openly embrace globalization attempts, as outsourcing supplies jobs and open trade markets allow for greater prosperity in a nation's products, but some, I am sure, do not want this integration thrust upon them.

This cartoon is an example of a nation that might not necessarily be accepting of globalization in their country. Using disney characters, prominent American figures that people nation-wide have learned to trust and love, are forcing globalization upon natives, symbolized by popular American logos and items such as Coke cans, a CNN label, a Microsoft flag, a McDonald's flag, IBM letters, a Shell gas logo, a Nike symbol, and a Texaco logo. These disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy are portrayed in an 'old-school' manner, and are most likely utilized by Singer, the artist, to portray the appearance of a loving America, but, because the characters are holding guns, a truly forceful and coercive country. On the left hand side, natives seem shocked, disturbed, and scared by this globalization, implying that Singer does not approve of forcing globalization upon an underdeveloped country, and I agree with Singer in that way.

Globalization probably would not have any effects on my life what so ever. However, people around the world might suffer greatly from it since they are forced to drop their old ways of living and adopt a new one. Some people might be fine with this since they have the "must move forward" mindset. But, others might be reluctant to move forward if it means letting go. Disney characters have been featured in the cartton as soldier and are envading a foriegn nation and bombarding them with the products from other corporation. Disney characters have been chosen to invade this nation over all the other figures because disney is one of the most renown company in the world. The people who are being invaded seems scared of the new corporations invading their soil. The cartoon was drawn by Andy Singer he thinks that the globalization is a one sided invasion only benefiting the invaders. I srongly agree with this author I believe that it is important to have a healthy relationship with foreign nations. But I also say that the corporations of these nations should not just barge in to foreign soil because that is not uniting the people from all over the world it is just a less violent way of invading them. If these nations continue to be modernized at a rapid rate they might lose their former selves and become something completely different.

I believe that globalization will have a negative affect on my life because it will make countries all over the world compete to better their products in unhealthy ways which will lead to tension. This tension would probably lead to war. I think other people around the world feel the same way as I do. I think they use the cartoonist used Disney characters to show that culture was being globalized on top of technology. He probably drew them old style to portray the time period of the cartoon. They have been portrayed as soldiers. Corporations like IBM, McDonalds, Coke, and Windows have been included. The people on the left of the cartoon are portrayed as being scared. Andy Singer drew this cartoon. The cartoonist has a negative view on globalization. He probably thinks that it will lead to unhealthy competition which would eventually lead to war. I agree because in the past, globilization lead to unhealthy competition between the US and the Soviet Union. I think the cartoonist should draw it in the same way today because globalization would probably still lead to unhealthy tension between countries.

Globalization will effect me in a positive way because it will help me diversify my culture. I think other people around will not be very accepting of it though. Some people really like the way that their culture works and take offense to anyone that tries to meddle with that. Disney characters and American companies have been use to portray the american culture. It is supposed to point out to us that this is america coming in to another country. The guns, however, suggest that globalization is being forced. You can tell that the people aren't happy about it. The cartoon also can suggest that it is America that is forcing globalization and that other countries do not like it. Because America has massive companies such as IBM and CNN, we can easily spread globalization but since countries don't have the same resources we do, they are opposed to the idea.

I Think globalization could have a posotive or negative effect on peoples lives. It depends if thats what they want. For people who are tech savvy and spend alot of time on the computer it wouldnt be a bad thing for them to see the worl through the computer and electronics. In the cartoon it is portrayed that the other contires dont like the way that america is trying to use globalization through all of our "american products". It is shown that disney characters are forcing themselves onto the world as if it is a bad thing, just like all the symbols around the cartoon as well like nike, macdonalds, coke, microsoft, etc. The cartoonists last name is Singer, and it seems like he has a negative take on globalization just by the way he portrays the american adversiting and buisnesses.

This cartoon shows the globalization throughout the world. Globlization is extending ideas to other or all parts of globe. To me, globalization might have a positive impact because if we get products from other countries, we get more advanced and better technologies, such as computers or cars. Other people around the world might see both positive and negative effects of globalization. Positive is that they also get good and better products from US as well but negative is that they have to work for US, when they want to work for their country. Disney characters are used in this cartoon to portray US and they are on a different country, trying to spread our ideas/products such as McDonald, Computers(xp), Coca Cola and etc. On the left hand side of the cartoon, you can see people look scared and frightened by the globalization. I guess from this cartoon, you can see that US likes globalization and the other countries do not. On the bottom of the right hand corner, it says the cartoonist is Singer. I think the cartoonist's POV of globalization is that other countries have a negative impact and US does not. I do not agree with this because even though globalization may be only for US's benefit, it may also be a benefit for other countries too. Like I mentioned it before, we import and export goods throughout the whole world; Mostly, many countries around the world has an advanced and better technology and products.

I believe that globalization will have a possitive, and negative affect in my lifetime. Although things will grow more rapidly, and connection will be better, the U.S. will also lose some power. Now the almighty U.S. will have the same resorces that every other country has. I believe that most people would agree with the bittersweet connection. In the cartoon you see disney characters drawn for globalization. Disney as well as Nike, CNN, gas companies, Coke, McDonalds, and many other goods have not only globaslized to other countries, but they are one of the biggest buyers of the goods. The people on the left are becoming slavesto the goods, and becoming like the U.S.. Heritage is going out the window, while globalization is growing. This cartoonist is aginst the idea of globalizatiojn, and thinks that it is destroying the world.

I personally believe that the cartoon presented above reprents globalization in a subtle sense, such that the featured cartoonish characters marching onto new territory are expanding their marked proviences with brutal and aggresive force against the innocent, pacificists / inhabitants.

It is this dominative, belligerent nature that could have an incredibly substanial negative effect on my life. It is my deepest regard that the people of the surrounding nations share my fears and concern of a consequence.

The Disney characters are being utilized as metaphorial symbols of the opression resulted from globalization, and are portrayed as domineering and antagonistic. The civillians of which they are attacking possess expressions of fear and terror, caused by the threat of their land and lives.

1)I don't think globalization will really effect anyone and if it does then it would effect the foreigners who are working for us.

2) I think that the countries who can't afford globalization aren't doing as well as American is. Dell has Indians working for the United States over in India and they do well. They have to be fluent in English and they get well paid.
3)Disney Characters are a big American thing.Mostly everyone knows the Disney characters. They are putting the characters in situations that have taken over America.
4)They also use CNN, BM, Coke, Tv's and McDonalds.
5) The people are running away from the planes and Disney characters. Planes are dropping tv's that have CNN on the tv.
6) I don't know who the cartoonist is but I think his point of view is, what is taking over Americans. The cartoonist used popular corporations and characters that many people know about. I like how the cartoonist did the cartoon because everything he used is extremely popular.

I dont think our country will benefit from globalizationbecause as other countries with more citizens advance in fields such as science and math, our country is falling behind. Soon other dominant countries will have technology that we will not. But, our country could benefit from the other countries achievements. As they advance in math and science we could use their ideas to futher improve our technology and power. Now the countries that we have been pouring industires into are now wanting to come up with companies to put into the United States.
The cartoon, drawn by an artist of the name of singer, has characters that are shown as forceful and violent soilders from the U.S pushing our ideas at less advanced countries. The cartoon characters, coke cans, television, and companies symbols alike mcdonalds and IBM and windows are drawn to show some of the companies and ideas that we have pushed into other countries. If the cartoon was drawn in 2009, it would probably have more electronic symbols drawn and it would also show countries like China and India pushing some ideas towards the U.S. The cartoonist view is that the U.S is invading other countries and pushing our companies and technology onto them. I agree but i think we should continue to do so for if we dont, other countries will soon over rule us and we will be the under dogs.

Globalization may negatively affect my life by taking away job opportunities I would otherwise have had. However, it may also improve my life through the creation of new services, programs, etc. by foreigners which would not have been able to do so otherwise.

I think other people in the world (specifically countries like India and China) see globalization as a welcome way to once again compete with a country that had utterly dominated them in multipl fields before.

Disney characters are used as a symbol for American, since they are wel-known American cartoons. They have been portrayed as merciless military figures, despite their friendly countenances. Other corporations shown include Microsoft, CNN, Coca-Cola, Nike, McDonalds, IBM, Texaco, and the Shell Oil Company.

The reaction of the people in the cartoon implies that the figures symbolizing America are unwelcome, and even feared.

The cartoonist is surnamed Singer; I was unable to find his first name. His point of view is that American corporations and symbols are invading other countries because their corporations cannot compete with ours.

I disagree with his opinion that this is a bad thing. I believe everyone should have access to the best services possible, whether it is Americans or another nationality administering them. Besides, competition is how businesses grow, and how consumers benefit most.

I believe he would draw it differently today or even not at all because globalization has given other nations a fair shot at competing with America on even ground (and with a considerable chance of coming on top, considering the total apathy of American students).

Globalization would have a negative effect on me because there would be less jobs in America and more competition in economy from other countries because they would try to take advantage of America.
Disney characters are used because Disney is American and represents and also a lot of products from them are gloablized.
Disney characters are portrayed as soldiers taking over a foreign country and other people.
McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and Shell gas is also portrayed in this cartoon.
The people on the left side are scared and probably don't like the idea of people coming to their country and forcing them jobs for cheap.
Singer is the cartoonist who drew this cartoon and he/she probably thinks of globalization or what the American companies are doing isn't good. I agree because because this would make the economy worse for America.

I think globalization might have a negative effect on my life because major companies that globalize become more and more powerful, and could eventually control the market that they are in. By spreading themselves around the world they are just gaining more money and power. Other people around the world may not want to be exposed to all of these major companies which could upset them when these companies come barging in on them. Disney characters were used because Disney is one of the major corporations that globalized and gained power around the world. The Disney characters have been portrayed as soldiers attacking a country with other major businesses attacking alongside with them. This was probably used to show that countries really don't have any choice of these corporations spreading to them or not. They are powerful and can go wherever they want. Some of the corporations pictured are, Mcdonalds, Nike, Coca-Cola, and more. The people pictured in the left-hand corner look scared and helpless to the big companies taking over. The cartoonist's last name is Singer which is in the bottom right-hand corner. The cartoonist is showing that he thinks the corporations have too much power and can spread and take over wherever they want to, and the people have no say in it. I agree with this point of view because i truly believe that they do have tons of power and can use it to spread wherever they want to.

This cartoon was made by Andy Singer and clearly represents many aspects of globalization. Globalization is when domestic companies decide to go abroad and make products globally, usually by force on natives. I believe that this will have both a positive and negative effect on my generation. Globalization will benefit because it's helping profit of companies and build economy because they can hire for less in poorer countries. It will be negative because now America is not the power house anymore with other countries building their status. I think other people arund the world are excited about this because there is a vast amount of job oppurtunities now.
i think that Andy Singer put a lot of thaught nto every aspect when creating this cartoon. He decided to add many large corporations that were once domestic but have gllobally spread, such as texaco, shell. IBM, mcdonald's, windows, cnn, and coca cola. They are used in the form of bombs because Singer makes it appear they are intruding. Another way Singer shows the negative aspect of globalization is the natives in the photo. They seem scared and like they do not want all these large corporations entering their hpomeland. Disney characters were portrayed as soilders invading. i believed he used them because they are looking friendly but have plans to do bad with globalization. Therefore I believe the point of veiw of Singer's is definately negative and against globalization because of all of the clever artwork. For example the brands being used as bombs and attacking ships. Also the people's faces having fear and lastly the soilders looking like they want to take over the country and i believe that's how singer feels about globalization.

I think that globalization will have both positive and negative effects in my own life. Globalization will be giving jobs to people of other countries that were once positions here, at the same time however globalization creates a race to do better, a large scale space race if you will, amongst countries which could start an era of advancement in technology and the arts. Despite the scared looks of the people in the cartoon, I think other countries are happy about globalization. Based on what the article said, globalization is benefiting other countries by increasing their amount of jobs and incomes.
I think Disney characters were used to portray American companies because of their seemingly innocent and always happy demeanor. The characters have been portrayed as the invading "army" and are using ships marked with brands like Shell, IBM, Nike, and Mcdonalds as well as CNN bombs and Coca-Cola can missiles. The overall effect is slightly overwhelming. Singer created this cartoon and seems to think of Globalization as being forced on countries and being a bad thing. Based on what I know of it so far, I disagree. I think globalization is necessary and good for all other countries as well as our own.

Globalization has both positive and negative effects on my life. On one hand, globalization allows me to buy products from most countries, obtain information about other countries, learn other languages, and become more culturally diverse. A negative effect on me is that one country's economy affects another, so it could affect me if another country is having money problems. I think other people around the world are mixed on globalization because I think that some people aren't open to other cultures and they don't like that their economy can be affected by another country's. I think that Disney characters have been included in the cartoon to show how our culture and company's are being forced into other country's whether they like it or not. Other corporations include Coca-Cola, Shell, McDonald's, and Microsoft. The reaction of the people on the left side of the cartoon indicates that these people don't want these companies forcing themselves into their country. The cartoonist's last name is Singer. I think that his point of view is that the United States should not be forcing its companies into other countries. I don't really agree because companies from other countries are in America and I don't think that they doing anything wrong by globalizing. I don't think that the cartoonist needs to draw the cartoon differently today because I think that it still gives the same message that it did before.

Globalization effects everyone. I think it will affect me positively. The unification of all the people of the world will give me more chances to succeed, and give me more job options. I think some people feel the same way i do do. I also know that there are others in the worldwho think that they are being invaded. They think that when people come to their country that those people don't belong there. The cartoon shows that some people may even be scared of the fast paced globalization of the world. I think that the disney chracters have been used in this cartoon to show the U.S.'s involvement in globalization. The Disney movies and characters are loved and well known here. We are globalizing the films and merchandise. The cartoon shows the characters forcfully entering other countries, as we introduce the movies and products to the countries. The Disney characters have been been portrayed as hostile, and making people like them and buy the Disney products. Other corperations are included such as Shell, Texaco, Nike, McDonalds, and Coka-Cola. They are shown because we have put some of our businesses in foreign countries. The people in the bottom left hand corner of the cartoon have frightened look s on their faces. They seem araid of the onslaught of merchandising, commercials, and having products and services shoved in their faces. Andy Singer is the artist who drew this cartoon. I think his point of view is generally negative towards globalization. He thinks we are invading other countries and being offensive. I do not agree with Singer. I think we are perfectly within our rights to introduce American companies in other countries.

In my opinion, globalization has a positive effect on me because as a whole, i think we learn more about different cultures, and different types of people through it. I think people in other countries feel the same way, but feel more like the US is forcing businesses or companies into their countries. The Disney characters in this cartoon are representing the US soldiers, and they were portrayed as evil and not nice, except for mickey mouse. They are invading the other peoples land holding guns, and come off as scary and mean. Corporations that are included are Coke, IBM, Shell, McDonald's, Windows, and CNN. These are all companies or businesses that have gone global. The people on the left of the cartoon seem frightened and are running away, symbolizing how the other people around the world are probably feeling as though US companies are being forced onto their lands, and aren't as happy as we are about it. Singer is the cartoonist who drew this. His point of view is that globalization is not good, because he portrays the Disney characters as evil men with guns scaring people off their lands. I agree with the cartoonist, because if the people who's land we're putting the companies on aren't happy about it, then i don't think its the right thing to be doing. Even though it might be what the US wants, if other countries aren't comfortable with it, then i don't think its a good idea.

Globalization will have negative effect on my life. I think other people also think that this has more bad then positivity in it. I think the Disney characters are being used to represent one of the major companies around the world in this cartoon. They have been portrayed to look like dictators and malevolent leaders. Other corporations in this cartoon include Texaco, Windows, and McDonalds.
The people on the side of the cartoon represent Americans, because all of their jobs are going over seas. Yes the cartoonist most definitely has a point of view, and I most definitely agree with it. The cartoonist probably wouldn’t, because it’s still the same type of thing today. The only difference is that some companies have gone out of business and others have moved up.

This political cartoon displays the idea of globalization and the effect on the people in the area. I think that gloabalization will have a positive and negative effect on my life, because technology is becoming very popular and invading on our lives these days. Also, globalization can be beneficial to people. Disney characters were used to show America's role in globalization and how businesses have invaded into other countries. The people are trying to escape from America's globalization effects. Some of the industries that have invaded are IBM, McDonalds, CNN, and many other popular American companies. The cartoonist is Singer. His opinion is that America is infringing on the rest of the world by pushing on the globalization too strong. I agree somewhat with this opinion but also America has helped the world greatly and people benefit from us everyday.

Globalization is when one phenomena tranforms into a global phenomena that no longer affects just one country, but the world itself. This is the process of the world functions together in either a negative, or positive way. The type of Globalization that I am familiar with is when borders of different countries trade of migrate from one another. Globalization will effect my future in a positive way because technology is just starting to climax. That being said there will be a lot more inventions in my lifetime that will demand the act of Globalization.
I beliveve others around the world feel that Globalization can have a negative and positive impact. Some believe the act of Globalization will strengthening a lot of businesses, because of its fast process.
In this cartoon i believe Disney character are portrayed as the bad guys because in America they are known to be the childhood fairytale. Everything that is being thrown on to the island is what is known th be America's obsessions. There are cokes, and televisions with CNN's logo because that happenes to be the well known news station that billions of Americans rely upon. There are two flags. One that is on a ship, which is the Mcdonald's logo. This represents America's love for fast food, and our well known obesity factor. The other flag is an indicator for our love of computers. The flag is the sign for Windows software that is predominant on American computers everywhere. This cartoon is portrayed to be the act of globalization act America with what we love, and what we love happens to be from other countries. There are two artist. Ones name is Benjamin Barber who is a Socioligist at the University of Maryland. The other is Samuel Huntington who is a Political scientist at Harvard. I do not beliveve they favor Globalization. I feel that this was just away for them to express what was happening at the time(referring to the Cold War). I agree with their POV because they have based their information on fact an d i feel that this is a good portrayal of the situation.

Globalization will have a positive effect on my life. The reason being is that to know that you have people in specfic areas around the world who specializes in a certain fields can provide you with help. Its better to have help then to be competely cluesses about what you're doing. I also believe that globalization will help different companies and governments to cooperate towards each other. Maybe globalization of different government can some day cause some kind of treaty of the world working together for the better. Other people may feel that globalization is like something of binding between contries and making them feel closer to one another. Other people may hate the simple fact of countries working together to build infrustrture. Disney characters have been put in the cartoon to portray that globalization can consume other people into some kind of force of buying there products and like they are going to take over. Other corporations are included to show they are backing up the troops which is desney to take over places and to be known world wide by force. The people are scared, and it looks like they are scarred because they are like being forced into globalization and they may not want it. The cartoonist who drew this picture is Singer and he does have a point of view, which is that globalization is forcing other into buying and supporting there products even though they are scared and running awar from it. I kind of agree a little, becuase it can be kind of forceful because other countries dont have what the U.S has and they want jobs so it can be kind of forceful.

I think globalization will have a postive effect on my life. Globalization enables people to connect from all over the world. Other people around the world may feel differently about globalization. For example, people in India may not like this idea because this means they will have to share the wealth that they have been starting to earn. Disney characters are used in this cartoon because everyone can relate and connect to them, because we have all been brought up knowing Disney characters. The characters have been portrayed as criminals with guns. Some other corporations in this cartoon were CNN and Dell and Coke. The people on the left hand side of the cartoon are frightened and they are running away. The cartoonist of this cartoon probably thinks that the effects of globalization has had a negative effect on people. I disagree because i think that globalization is what makes everyone aware of their surroundings. It has also made us smarter and more adept to our environment.

globalization will have both good and bad effects on my life. it will diversify and at the same time unify the world by bringing countries closer together. however it will make much more competition between countries at the same time. i believe citizens of other countrries may welcome it for the jobs, where as american citizens might feel that their jobs are being stolen by foreiners.

the disney characters are drawn because they are a well known GLOBALIZED cartoon just the same as the corperations such as IBM texico coke windows cnn mcdonalds and nike.

the disney cartoons are portreyed as iinvading trooops. they are forcing their way into other societies, just as globaliztion will enter societies even if the people dont want it.

the people on the left side of the cartoon are warry and scared of the disney characters, they are skeptical and scared of globalization.

singer is the artist who drew the cartoon. he opposes globalization and expresses it through his war depiction of it. i personaly see the good and bad in globalization and dont think i could take a 100% strong stand on only on side.

I feel that the cartoonist, Singer, had a negative view on globilization and felt that it was robbing the natives of their culture. The artist portrays Disney characters in military regalia shooting at the island and it's people with ammunation of western culture. The people look frightened and they run away from the characters. The symbols used in the cartoon were lables like McDonald's, Coca Cola, CW, BM, Shell Gasoline and more. The picture makes me feel as if westernization is overbearing to the natives of the world that we are trying to change. Making others "civilized" in our eyes doesn't stop poverty and war and I feel that it is wrong.

Globalization does, indeed, have an effect on my life. I certainly do not like what is happening to the people in the cartoon. I would say that it has a negative effect on my life, because I feel that our country is doing these bad things to other countries. I'm sure that other countries don't like this either! You never hear of any other nation bombarding another with propaganda, media, or corporation. The US is really the only perpetrator. Many of the terrorists, in their threat videos, say the the US is a big greedy country, that forces it's media and consumerism on other countries, and they are trying to stop it. I think that they aren't taking the right approach to fight globilization, because the majority of Americans, eg. the middle class, do not like what the US is doing to other countries with globilization. There are many logos and icons in the cartoon, which are symbolic of being the "best of their kind," as well as being the biggest of their kind. IBM computers are supposedly the the best kind of computers. Microsoft Windows is supposedly the best operating system. McDonald's is supposedly the best fast food restaurant. Mickey Mouse is the most popular cartoon, here. The list goes on... The native people, in the cartoon seem to be running for their lives, at what America has brought to them. The German band, Rammstein has this to say about the US' globalization, in their song, Amerika, "We're all living in america/ coca-cola, wonderbra/ we're all living in america, america." What they mean by this, is that since a lot of what they see in everyday lives (products, entertainment, etc...) is from the US. Even though everyone is from different parts of the world, they see America everywhere they look. This is exactly what is being done to the native people, in this cartoon. The person who drew this is Andy Singer. I have seen his comics in The Funny Times, and I recognized his style. He seems to think that globalization is bad, because he is portraying everything that the US is doing, by spreading their culture and icons as bad. I agree with him, for the many reasons outlined in this response. I don't think that this cartoon should be redrawn, because it is still true, today. The logos might change, in the future, but it will still represent what is going on. The rap-rock band, Flobots say in their newest album, "There is a war going on for your mind." And, that is what is being portrayed, in this comic.

I think globalization will have a negative effect in our life because we will be competing with not just English speaking countries but non-speaking countries too. I think it really depends on the person, some people won't be affected by it at all, but globalization will have a huge impact on the peopl who are involved with international affair or business. Micky mouse and Goofy are the disney characters that's being portrayed in the cartoon, and they represent invaders. The corporations are the coke company, CNN, and windows/microsoft. The people on the other side are running away with a scared look because their land is being invaded by intruders. Singer is the cartoonist who drew the cartoon, and the point of view is that people are taking over other land and making their territory with their stuff, and i agree with the cartoonist. I thought the cartoonist a little different in today because people don't invade other people's land, and we have the internet which can be connected to the world; people use technology now.

I think globalization will have both a positive and negative effect on my life. I will be able to do more and have more access to people and places around the world easily, but I might have to compete with them for jobs and such. America who has been the world leader is beginning to be caught up to by other countries, and this will also have a huge effect on my life as well.
I think many people around the world love that the world is globalizing; it is opening up many new opportunities for them and helping many out of impoverishment too. Also since one usually shows nationalism towards one country, many are probably very proud that their country is beginning to modernize and become connected.
Disney characters were probably used since they are very global and lovable. They seem harmless enough, but they are shown as if they are forcing something upon the people. They are smiling and holding guns at the same time. Some of the other corporations also shown are CNN, IBM, McDonalds, Windows, and Coke, all big, worldwide companies. They are all advertised in many countries all over the world.
People on the left side, seem to be running away from the military Disney characters, like they are afraid of them. The cartoonist Andy Singer shows in his point of view, that globalization is a bad thing, especially when forced on others. Yes we shouldn’t force it on others, but that isn’t always the case. The original motives are good, to help other countries’ economies so as to further connect them and bring us closer to worldwide union. Not to leave anyone too far behind.

I was somewhat confused by the cartoon and all of the meaning behind it. It was obviously against globalization by showing the big companies and franchises invade the locals' land. THe part that confused me was the way the locals were being invaded. After looking at the cartoon and much contemplating, I realized that the invasion looks very similar to the D-Day invasion where the the Allies stormed the shores of normandy attacking the Axis powers that turned the tides of World War Two in favor of the Allies. It had WW2 styled planes and ships, and I also saw a reference to the battle of Iwo Jima with the the disney characters portraying the marines lifting up the flag wth the Winows logo. I personally think the cartoonist was being extreme by comparing globalization to the D-Day invasion because, D-Day, or the the whole Operation Overlord, was a good thing and the cartoonist used it to say globalization is a bad thing.

Globalization has both positive and negative effects for America. The positive affects are that globalization is making our technology better with the help of other countries, such as India, China, and many more. The negative affects are that it’s causing America a decrease in employment rate.
The cartoon shows many popular brands that we know. Disney has Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and an army of Goof’s running around with guns as their boarding the island. There’s a ship in the background shooting Coca Cola cans at the people in the island. Bomber planes are dropping TV’s that have CNN on them. Also, on the island, in the background, there is about 4 Goof’s putting up a Dell flag. At the bottom left of the cartoon there are people that look foreign running away as if they are scared. You can also see that some are worried as well because the guys hand is on his head. Mickey has the role of the general because he is pointing his gun at them and commanding them what to do.
All of these logos have one thing in common. They are all large, popular, successful companies that are made by America. These companies need many people working on issues that they might have, or might just need their services. What I can make out from this cartoon is that all these companies are going to other nations that are poorer then America. These companies are looking for cheaper labor then the U.S has to offer. India, Africa, China and other countries have a low GDP per capita. The people of these countries need to work in order to survive and have a family. They have no choice, but to accept this minimum wage paying job in order to keep their families alive.
Globalization is having a positive affect on my life. When I grow up I will have a job needs the education degree of colleges. Globalization is making it more competitive for the kids in America who do not try in school, and fail to succeed; therefore it is making my future brighter because new technology would come faster because of the cheap labor. The cartoonist is Singer and his point of view is that globalization is a bad thing and shouldn't be forced on other countries. Although I think it’s a good thin because other people around the world are getting to experience new technology and more jobs are being available for them. If a country does not wish to globalize then they don’t have to.

Globilization is showed in many different ways through this cartoon. In this cartoon, it seems that it is shown on more of the negative side. People are running away from the characters and look scared. I see globilization as more of a negative effect on my life. I think that we should keep our culture the way it is and no one should take control. Other people in the world may like it, but by the look of this cartoon, it seems they don't. The character Goofy is seen as the military, which is ironic since he is really silly. Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck seem that they're generals. Texaco, Shell, and IBm are the ships that are unloading the military. Nike is seen as the missle ship. McDonalds is seen as the air planes and Coke is seen as the missles. Windows is seen as their flag. The cartoonist is named Singer.

I believe that globalization will have negative effect on my life. In the past, America was the best at almost everything. However this was in the past. Today, our economy is down, and we are no longer the leaders in math and science. As a result it would be us who would be assimilating into other people's cultures and societies. This would force Americans to change their way of life. The reason the soldiers are Disney characters is because Disney has become the icon of America. The cartoonist is showing how America is forcefully forcing their culture onto others. This is also apparent in the flags, symbols, and shells. The flags and symbols are multi-national companies such as McDonalds, IBM while the shells are televisions with CNN and Coca-Cola cans. All of these things are part of American society. The cartoonist has a negative view of America's globalization. He/she believes that America is forcefully spreading their culture.

In a bad way, there will be more commercializing coming from the US, just like it depicts in this cartoon. It's almost like the US will control everyone with commercializaiton sooner or later like an army taing over another country. I think that's really horrible and cruel.

I believe that globalization will have both positive and negative affects on my life. Like a double-edged sword, with globalization ground-breaking ideas will be conveyed around the globe faster and they can come from all different places, but the bad thing, while the new generation of America is getting lazier other nations are getting the chance to rise above us.I think that people from other countries are looking at this positively because we, the United States, have been almost ruling the economic playing field for so long and now were showing weakness and opportunity to be taken over. Why have Disney characters been used in this cartoon? How have they (the Disney characters) been portrayed? What other corporations are included? Everyone looks a little scared of the gigantic American companies in the cartoon. A cartoonist named Singer drew this picture. His position on the topic is leaning towards the bad side. He's showing us as invading these other countries. I don't disagree with him as we're pushing our companies work into places like India because they work cheaper so we're taking advantage.
I think if Singer drew this now the "islandish" people would look a little happier as they're kind of winning in this situation because they'll soon be smarter and more efficient than America if the trends continue.
